Real Education from Your Hidden Genius

Do you know that the philosopy of education in Sweden and in Waldorf schools opposes teaching reading before a child is seven years old?

Early education of the left brain shuts off access to that stream of information coming through the body to the whole mind.

Do you know that your subconscious mind absorbs information 10,000 times faster than your conscious mind?

That only two percent of your mind works in words?

That left-brained societies are patriarchal and right-brained ones are matriarchal?

That the word "education" comes from the Latin "educare" meaning to bring up and bring out? In other words, to elicit from the child instead of pouring information into him.

I am very excited by Paul Scheele's "The Genius Code." I ordered it recently because I know the value of his and Dr. Win Wenger's work in Learning Strategies. Talk about a real education!

I am really enjoying this particular course now, beginning to interpret AND ACT ON some of that wonderful swirling image stream that I've been playing with all my life.

Once I had a dream about a piece of plastic jewelry, teflon coated, for stashing chewed gum when you no longer want it but have no nice place to put it. When I awoke I called it a "Gum Chum". I ran the idea by five classes of seventh graders. Every kid wanted one.

Next I went to SCORE for help from retired business executives. Three different men gave me excellent advice, which I followed. It was all left-brained advice. The fourth was a native of Vietnam. He responded to my questions without smiling. As I got up to leave, he asked me where I got the idea. When I told him I dreamed it, he smiled broadly. I learned later that Vietnamese people value dreams.

So, I got a logo and US copyright and then searched for companies to make a prototype. The only thing that stopped me was the $50,000 required for manufacture. I wrote to a few companies, but couldn't raise the money. Had I known then what I know now, I would have perservered. I would have found the courage to ask for the funding.
